How to Select your Perfect Venue!

A Guide for Brides to Find the Venue that Fits their Vision, Budget and Guest List.

  1. Guest Count Comes First

It's important to know approximately how many guests you're inviting before picking a venue:

Small (under 100): Look for intimate spaces.

Medium (100-250): Most traditional venues work as-is.

Large (250+): You'll need a bigger space and staff.

  1. Decide How Much of Your Budget to Spend on Your Venue

Venues can eat up a big chunk of your wedding budget. Usually 30-50%.

Pick a spot that reflects you as a couple, whether by significance or by its looks.

  1. Know Your Wedding Style

Your venue should reflect your personal style:

Do you see yourself in a ballroom, barn, garden, beach, church, or museum?

Do you want indoors or outdoors?

  1. Wedding Theme, Layout & Flow

Does the venue allow you to have the ceremony and reception in one location?

(Having your ceremony and reception in one limits the need for transportation services)

Does the venue have a seperate space for cocktail hour or photos?

  1. Location Matters

Think about both sides of the family and your guests.

Is the venue central for both families?

Will guests need to travel far or stay overnight?

Are there hotels and parking nearby?

  1. Research What's Included

    Ask these questions before booking:

Do I have to use their catering or can I bring my own?

    Is their alcohol included?

Are rentals (tables, chairs, linens) included?

  1. Visit the Venue In-Person

Photos are nice, but walking through the venue is essential.

    Check for:

Enough space for your guests and dancing.

    A large enough dance floor.

    A helpful venue coordinator.

    Food tasting options.

  1. Make a Pros & Cons List

Finally, list what each venue offers-and what it lacks.

What are your must-haves vs. nice-to-haves?

Which venue gives you that "this is the one" feeling?

Compare your notes and talk it out with your partner or planner.
